Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before engaging the services of Deborah Bartrip Lactation Consultant (ABN 45 717 602 749), referred to hereafter as the Lactation Consultant.
These terms outline the rights and responsibilities of both the Lactation Consultant and the client in accordance with Australian laws. By utilizing the services of the Lactation Consultant, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Services Provided: 1.1 The Lactation Consultant will provide professional guidance and support for breastfeeding, including assessing and addressing any breastfeeding-related concerns, providing education and advice, and assisting with techniques to enhance lactation and breastfeeding success. 1.2 The Lactation Consultant may provide recommendations for breastfeeding equipment, supplies, and other resources, but the client has the discretion to choose whether or not to follow such recommendations.
2. Client Responsibilities: 2.1 The client is responsible for providing accurate and truthful information about their medical history, current health conditions, and any medication or treatments being used. 2.2 The client agrees to follow the Lactation Consultant's instructions, recommendations, and advice to the best of their ability, keeping in mind that the consultant's guidance may vary depending on individual circumstances. 2.3 The client acknowledges that breastfeeding success depends on a variety of factors, including the baby's health, latch, and sucking abilities. The client understands that the Lactation Consultant cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results.
3. Consultation Fees and Payment: 3.1 The client agrees to pay the Lactation Consultant's fees as outlined in this website and agreed upon prior to the consultation session. 3.2 Payment is expected prior to the service unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance. 3.3 In the event of a cancellation, the client must provide notice to the Lactation Consultant at least 24 hours before the scheduled consultation. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee, at the discretion of the lactation consultant.
4. Confidentiality and Privacy: The Lactation Consultant is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information collected and used in the course of providing lactation consultant services. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Acy) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Collection of Personal Information 4.1 Types of Information: We may collect personal information such as your name, contact details (including address, email, and phone number), medical history, and any other information necessary for providing lactation consultant services. We may also collect information from third parties, with your consent, when it is necessary for the provision of our services (e.g., referrals from healthcare professionals). 5.Limitation of Liability: 5.1 The client acknowledges that the Lactation Consultant is not a medical doctor and does not provide medical advice or treatment. The consultant's role is to provide breastfeeding support and education. 5.2 The client agrees that the Lactation Consultant will not be held liable for any adverse outcomes or consequences resulting from the services provided, including but not limited to breastfeeding difficulties, injuries, or health issues. 5.3 The client acknowledges that they have the right to seek medical advice from a healthcare professional for any health concerns related to themselves or their baby.
6. Governing Law: 6.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
By engaging the services of the Lactation Consultant, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the client and the Lactation Consultant, superseding any prior agreements or understandings, whether oral or written, in accordance with Australian laws.
Following the initial consultation, the Lactation Consultant will email a tailored follow-up plan to meet your specific needs.

The Lactation Consultant acknowledges that engagement in the follow-up plan is at the discretion of the client, and that she will provide timely additional support in accordance with the care package purchased.
